About Us

Created in 2010, Caffeinated Theology is about looking at apologetics, the Church and theology from Reformed/Evangelical Calvinist perspective.  This is the second blog under the Caffeinated Communications Network banner.  We are also the creators of the Caffeinated Calvinists Blog Network (originally hosted at Caffeinated Thoughts).

Shane Vander Hart is the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Caffeinated Communications Network which includes Caffeinated Thoughts, Caffeinated Theology and Caffeinated Clips.  David Shedlock is the editor of Caffeinated Theology.  Several contributors (you can see a list in the sidebar) join David and Shane in providing content that will challenge, inspire and encourage you.

We believe and embrace the doctrines of grace which are often known under the acronym TULIP, but are identified differently (in a way Shane likes) in James Boice & Philip Ryken’s book, The Doctrines of Grace: Rediscovering the Evangelical Gospel:

• Radical Depravity (Total Depravity)
• Unconditional Election
• Particular Redemption (Limited Atonement)
• Efficacious Grace (Irresistible Grace) , and
• Persevering Grace (Perseverance of the Saints)

Being Reformation Christians we also embrace the five Solas of the Reformation:

• Sola Fide (by faith alone)
• Sola Scriptura (by Scripture alone)
• Sola Gratia (by grace alone)
• Solus Christus (through Christ alone)
• Soli Deo Gloria (to God alone be the glory)
